Yes, solar energy is way cheaper than that of PLN. By going solar, you will see significant reduction in your monthly bill, on some cases it can even hit up to 100% savings. With that enormous amount of electricity production, your system will achieve a payback period of 4-7 years depending on the size of the installation.
Our 1 meter * 2 meter solar panel can produce around 50 kWh/month (averaged throughout the rain & dry season over the year). The solar energy produced scales with the size of your available space, whether it be your rooftop, parking area, even just empty land.
Definitely! We have had few installations where we cover all of the client’s monthly electricity consumption that results in them never having to pay electricity ever again.
Without going into too much technical term, there are 3 main steps to a solar system. First, solar panel converts sunlight into DC electricity. Second, inverter convert DC electricity to AC electricity, the form that can be used by your household. Third, AC electricity would either be stored in your battery or would go into your main electrical panel to be used by your appliances.
Not unless you want to have backup power. What the solar system produced can be used directly by your appliances or be sold to PLN (yes, we have the license to do that!). If you want to store that energy to be used later in case of power blackout, then you do need battery. We would advice not to use battery if your site is located near Tier 1 cities in Indonesia as we can rely on PLN grid reliability.
After the installation, we would install a monitoring log in your system that enables both SolarNation and you to monitor the energy performance daily, monthly & yearly, refreshed in 15-min interval. Additionally, your next electricity bill would look a little bit different from before the installation. Now, not only can you see how much electricity you buy from PLN, you can also see how much electricity you sell to PLN.
We have installed solar panels on rooftops of any material, parking lots (as canopy), land banks, on mining sites, factories, cold storages, even on water bodies (yes, floating solar!). Solar panels have no moving parts, multi functional and are very durable. We can install solar panels anywhere on the surface of the earth as long as there’s nothing blocking the sun to the panels. This is one reason for our free preliminary survey – we need to be sure there’s no high-rise building, trees and other tall infrastructures that might cast shadows on our solar panels.
Unlike your water heaters that absorb heat, solar panels absorb sunlight (just like photosynthesis process in plants) – as long as there is sunlight, solar panels would continue to produce energy. There would be 10-20% decrease in our energy produced during the rainy season but the average 50 kWh/mo energy production per panel has already accounted for that.
Although blue solar panels are the most common (and hence the most economic), we do have black panels, frameless panels, transparent panels, even building-integrated panels – it really depends on your personal priorities and preferences.
Yes, all our installations from 2009 are eligible for a 80%-efficiency, 25-year performance warranty – this means that the degradation of our components, reflected in the energy produced will never exceed more than 0.8% per year. If such unfortunate event happens, we would immediately replace your system with a brand new one for free. For installations in Java island, we even conduct free yearly checkups to make sure our clients are happy with the installation. This is our #1 commitment for reliability & consistency.
Since the components in our inventory is limited, you would need to wait 2-3 weeks after the first Term of Payment to get the material ready on your site. Once the material is on site, our internationally-certified engineers would begin the pre-installation preparation (setting up scaffolding, safety harness), the actual installation (any mounting necessary to support the solar panels, cable management) and post-installation commissioning (setting up monitoring system, cleaning up and warranty registration).
